Doubt the Rangers have the cap space for Ekman-Larsson, As it is probably both Strome and ADA could be trade bait.

This is a good plan. Keep it going. Get Boychuck and Hickey too. Trade out Hjalmarsson and Grabner if they'll allow it.

With little to no gate revenue and heading for the central next year, the Coyotes best chance for being a powerhouse is pumping the breaks for three-ish years on the rebuild and letting guys like Keller develop a bit more. Guys like OEL, Kessel and potentially Hall are fine, but there's no way to build around them quick enough while they're going to be good. If it hadn't been the pandemic the Coyotes probably don't make the playoffs this year.

they have $13M in room as is, + Staal's 5.7M -8.25 OEL = roughly 10M for Strome, ADA, Lemieux.

At the end of 2020-21 they clear off 8.5 from Lundqvist, 4.3 from Smith, with Chytil, Shesterkin, Gauthier and Howden to sign.

It's at the end of 2021-22 they have to Sign Fox and Kaako.

It's definitely doable if they bridge some on 2-3 year deals to keep the eventual room for Laf and Kaako and Fox.

I figured they can't get rid of everyone, need some people to provide veteran experience.

They can keep some room for 2024-25 where they can sign Matthews and his pyjamas and his bedsheets.

He’s not. He’s only been bad behind an awful defensive team in EDM other wise he’s been a quality goalie.

COL passes but damn that makes Kessel super cheap. Just don’t think Kuemper is the guy his stats say. Yotes play low event hockey, COL does not, just don’t think it’s a fit look at what happened when COL bombed away on him in the playoffs.

I guess the argument could be "when Colorado is bombing away on the other goalie" Kuemper can stand there.

It was more of a depth thing, considering Grubauer regularly gets injured.

I don’t know about regularly I definitely would say at in opportune times for sure. But I stick with my original assessment and say COL passes, but Kessel on that low dollar a deal is a pretty sweet deal.
