There isn’t a scenario where Los Angeles and New York make the pick swap. Rangers are going to ask for a price that’s unreasonable to pay, and there’s no reason to derail what’s been a fine rebuild just to get a player that fits the positional need a little better.

No. There's no trade to be made swapping #1 and #2. Kings won't want to give up enough and the Rags will want too much. If any trade gets done, it's only because one GM is getting fleeced and it will likely cost him his job.

If New York wants Byfield, they'll have to take him with the #1 overall. Otherwise they should take Lafreniere and be happy that they got the best player in the draft.

You don't know that for sure, I've seen people say things with certainty on here before and be dead wrong. You never know.

I know for sure that Blake isn't going to give up a player like Turcotte or Vilardi and more to move up from Byfield to Lafreniere. I'd be willing to bet the farm on that one. Mark Yannetti (Kings head scout) has already been quoted as saying they're prepared to take whoever the Rangers don't, and will be excited to get an exceptional talent.
