That is an offer the Habs would entertain. Would you consider Buch + 1st 2020 (Car) for Mete + Danault?

It’s a no go for the Habs.

I don't think so. Might(?) go as high as Buch and two 2nd's for Danault and Mete.

We need scoring and size Buch provides that nicely. The 1st (Car) or (above picks) makes up the difference in value.

Fair enough. Just thought 1 it was a late 1st and 2 you are not giving up 3 high round picks in a deep draft.

I believe the Rangers very much want to draft a center with the 22 overall pick.

Gieorgiev is not worth that much. I can see the Leafs giving Dermott for him straight up, maybe. But more than that is a dream. We are talking about a current #3. Who has a career average of above 3 GAA and has never been proven as a starter. Temper your expectations.

Very doubtful Winnipeg would have any interest in Deangelo.

But with Danault they would be able to afford give up that pick I just didn't realize the Rangers had no 2nd of their own. I though you would be giving up 22nd but still have 32 or so lol.

Though I got the Dermott trade suggestion from several Leafs fans who posted the same trade, you may be correct. Georgiev has several intangibles that some GM's will value more than other GM's.

Until the 2nd or 3rd month of this past season, Georgiev played behind arguably the worst defense in the league since the trade deadline in 2018 (2017-2018 season). Which significantly magnifies Georgiev's statistics that you find unimpressive.

Furthermore the reason Georgiev has not yet proven himself as a stater is because of his young age (24) and because he shared the net with Lundqvist his entire NHL career. Which is another example of an intangible Georgiev has that certain GM's will value over other GM's

Also Georgiev (a RFA) can be signed to a relatively inexpensive contract long term and especially short term. Which with a flat salary cap, might limit GM's to certain goalies they could target. With Georgiev being most likely on the top of those sort of lists.

With the forwards Winnipeg has, DeAngelo would put up a very high point total playing with them. It seems like a perfect fit. Is Winnipeg stacked with RD's or is it a position of need?

From an outside observer of WPG it seems to me that DeAngelo can put up a lot of points from a position that could be upgraded. Not just from running the power play, but at even strength as well - especially with the forward group WPG has.

He'll likely be looking for a pretty hefty raiseand isn't good defensively, so he isn't what the Jets need. Also, character wise, he isn't someone True North would consider.

All that said, it's still an overpay. Dermott is cheap as well and looks like he could absolutely be a top 4 defenceman. Gieorgiev could be a tandem guy or maybe a starter but who knows. It's a huge risk.
