Description
with GMBG saying the Wild want to start targeting MN Born players for drafting and trades I thought I'd make a couple moves for fun
AZ gets cap relief and MN gets younger, plus 1 of us. Even though he's younger, he's also twice as expensive and doesn't produce as much as Staal so figure it's pretty even.
I know Boeser isn't really moving, but thought it would be about right, Dumba is obvious Hartman adds some much needed Grit, McBain is a Center prospect where Vancouver is pretty thin with all their main pipeline being Wings and D. Thought he made more sense in there than a Boldy who's a wing. might be an overpay *shrugs*

Much rather move those assets for a C. Also, no thank you to the Arizona trade

I’d much rather do a dumba for Monaghan type trade. Just doing mn born players that they might be targeting. On the az I’d want more back etc just looking at possible roster

I like the Stepan trade...mostly because i dont like Staal.

I wouldn’t give that much for Boeser (remove the 2nd), but i am one of the few who would trade Dumba or Brodin for a great wing.

That's just because you like your chances if they hold open tryouts at Xcel for center. lol

Interesting conversation on TSN1200 about the #mnwild, they have an internal mandate similar to Montreal to get Minnesota born players in. They've made mistakes in the past they don't want to repeat, skipping on Boeser in the 2015 Draft and trading away Nick Leddy are two.

That's not a reputable rumor site, it's actually usually pretty awful from the content I see, but they did just go out and get Bjugstad. It makes me sick that they're focusing on Minnesota born players at all, I really hope they don't start taking Minnesotans over better rated players.

I also question who was doing the talking and how connected they are. If it was speculation based on acquiring Bjugstad, or if they actually have any kind of connection. I haven't heard anything like that from Russo or anyone else I can trust.

EDIT: Just read some of the contextual tweets. It sounds like a load of crap and someone trying to make waves about the Bjugstad trade. Bringing up Boeser and trading Leddy, and then the other two guys mentioned are Niskanen and Oshie?

We also took Kunin over Bellows and Tufte in 2016, but he's not bringing that up? When the only guys you can bring up are four over the course of a decade, I'd say it's a non-issue.

BTW, Niskanen was drafted 28th overall in 2005. TJ Oshie was taken 24th. The Wild picked 4th. What a garbage take from whoever was doing the talking, if that's what he truly said and the tweeter didn't warp the words to fit a narrative.

who's to say, but there are good mn players they could go after. I just picked ones that would make some sense and don't have NTC's or anything like an Anders Lee does.

Where is the great wing? All I see is Boeser.

Spurgeon, Bjugstad, and Boeser all on the same team, IR will be getting a workout.

Boeser is an excellent hockey player, but you are right to be concerned about his injury history. I am too.
