Where is the logic to trade Gardiner to Boston? This guy has been a disaster (just like his whole team) in the past two Game 7 we've played in the 1st round so why would the Bruins take him? I'm not even talking about his contract.

Both Fleury and Foegele are going to need a bit more money probably closer to 2 mil. I do not understand the Russel trade in the slightest. The canes are way better off with Fleury as the 3rd pair RHD and getting bean in the lineup. I also do not see the canes trading both gardiner and Skjei, i think one will be he second pairing guy and Bean needs to be the 3rd pair LHD. Hall would be super interesting but the cap would be tough, and he is probably going to be closer to 8

I mean you said it- the entire leafs team was bad in both game 7s. Leafs fans like to hang it all on Gardiner but of course that's not fair.

He was in the top five goals above replacement his last three years with the leafs (ie, when the leafs were semi-good), which is an impressive feat considering the quality forwards he had to outperform and his immediate defensive partners doing everything they could to drag him down. That's the reason Carolina signed him in the first place. He'd help the Bruins. And, disastrous first year aside, that contract is good.

Rather have Blidh than Gardiner. Only d man B’s would be interested in would be Fleury but that does not help your cap.

Take out the 4th from the Leafs and I'd do it.

He can't play defense. No thanks.

Gardiner please don’t ever play for team USA at the world championships ever again. I always pray that he is in the playoffs and can’t get an invitation.

Canes save $2M on the Edmonton trade.

It adds to the cap. The canes need to generate cap space not add to it
