Boston fans if Rask retires

Not really up on what the G prospects look like but statistically none of them look ready for a full time promotion and Halak is getting to be a bit long in the tooth. Thoughts/counters?

I hate that Murray deal for Pittsburgh. And Rask won’t retire so it’s just a mute point

That deal with Boston is pretty bad for the pens. Murray is the best player in that deal, POJ is the 2nd best piece in that deal. Pens take on a cap dump in the process and the only somewhat ok piece in this deal coming back is the 2nd round pick. And that doesn’t really help with a win now mentality. If the pens keep Angello and make him the 4th line forward, they would likely get similar production from him for almost half the cost as Kuraly.

Angello's foot speed is a real concern. I don't know, he just seems like a Boston type player to me. Kuraly gives them a "respectable" 3C, still not sold on Blu filling that full time, and McCann isn't one. The options for Murray are pretty limited and the well publicized need for the Pens to move a goalie really lowers the value on both Murray and Jarry.

I don’t think Kuraly is an upgrade over Blueger. His career high in goals is 8 lol. I think McCann is a respectable 3C to be honest. Much better winger but if he can get out of that “I’ve got to be extremely defensive” as a center then he would be decent there. It doesn’t really devalue our goalies though because there are a lot of teams in need of a goalie. And Murray has two things the others don’t. Being a big part of multiple cups, and being young just entering his prime.

There really aren't a lot of teams that need a goalie. CAL , EDM, CAR and maybe NSH. Murrays cup years are two years ago and it's been an informative two years since.

Calgary, Edmonton, Carolina, Colorado, Detroit, Chicago, Ottawa, buffalo, Toronto.
Last year was murrays 1 bad season. The year before he was solid (and great down the stretch), the year before he was average, the two years before that he was phenomenal. In the last 3 years Murray has had to play behind an absolute anchor in JJ for 2 years and his dad dying.
