That’s actually a really interesting move with the Islanders, I might be interested in it. Might be able to use a guy like Panik in the middle six and with the Caps supposedly being interested in Gustafsson, Leddy might be a decent substitute if they either miss out on him or go a different direction

It's funny how Orlov being mislabeled as a a RD on this site acts as a shibboleth. If you see an ACGM that doesn't move him to the left side, 9 times out of 10 the poster isn't a Caps fan.

Agreed about the picks for Leddy. Even if they did unload a forward, I would imagine it's to open a spot for Bellows, Wahlstrom and/or Holmstrom.

Where'd you hear that? I’m a Caps fan, and I haven’t heard any rumors yet about which defensemen they’re interested in.

Oh, one of my friend is a Caps fan, he told me that. Maybe it isn't true? I've seen it on here a couple of times too, but maybe it's not legit. Just looked it up too and can't find anything. I should be more careful lol

No worries. I’ve seen a few people here suggest the Caps sign him too, but it doesn’t make much sense to me. Seems like his value is mostly from his ability on the PP, but the Caps already have maybe the best PPQB in the league in Carlson. I think the Caps will add a LHD this off-season after moving Kempny, but it’ll be someone more in the vein of Dillon who’ll be the stay-at-home guy to compliment Carlson. Leddy doesn’t really fit that bill either, and his price tag would make it a lot harder to upgrade the 2RD.

I looked at FA and beyond Dillon there isn't anything out there for the left side that would help or be at a cap # the Caps could stomach - I don't see Dillon as the answer if Kempny is moved, just 1 man's opinion

Ultimately Fehervary will need to be the answer for Carlson’s partner if the Caps are going to keep their window open. I like Dillon as a guy who can hold his own there, and then drop down to a 3rd pairing, Brooks Orpik-type role when Fehervary is ready. No one else on the Caps brings it physically like he does.
