Wings need to get more out of Vegas for taking fleury and then more form Calgary for retaining on fleury..

Mantha and hurt each get at least 1 million more, mantha maybe 2M.

Van gets erne and we get an extra 2nd instead if 4th

Isles get perlini and we get wilde + bellows + 1st for taking ladd's awful contract.

Rest is fine, especially if stutz drops to us at 4. I heard same that Ottawa likes both drysdale and raymond at 3

L.A. taking Byfield at 2 and Ottawa taking Drysdale at 3. Ottawa still gets a very good forward prospect at 5, I bet they jump on the best D-man before Detroit has a chance of taking him

I feel that the wings regardless of who they have NEED right shot wingers, so I firmly believe that they'll pick Lucas Raymond in this draft, unless they trade for someone already in the NHL that is right hand shot, but Stutzle if still available at 4th is a great pick also

Those bridge deals for Mantha and Bert are straight to UFA. We take on 6M deadcap for Flower only for a 3rd and 4th, pass. Wilde (RD) isn’t a pressing need to take on Ladd’s contract not enough value. Value also seems light from Vancouver and I doubt Eriksson waives.

While I agree about better right wing play, you need to draft BPA if you have the 4th pick. I think Yzerman will take whoever is available at 4 between Stutzle, Byfield, or Drysdale. I am completely fine with any, but Stutzle is the hope

I understand the returns are not shiny, but Detroit only gains from these situations. Keep in mind they have to compete with Ottawa, Buffalo, NJ, and L.A. in the flat cap race. Demko looked strong against Vegas and Wilde is a right handed d-man, projected to make the NHL in 2021-22. Those do not come around very often. That is why Yzerman jumped on Seider.

ottawa knows that detroit won’t take drysdale at 3 because they already have great defense prospects in seider and hronek...they can get stutzle at 3 and still have drysdale on the board at 5

If you do not think Detroit takes Drysdale at 4, who does Yzerman pick? I've always been under the school of thought that you cannot have too many good defensive prospects(colorado)

Of all the teams you listed on NJ didn’t cut payroll. We are talking about Melnyk & Pegulas whom reported internal caps. Demko looked strong for three games but had a rather mediocre regular season. We have Hronek, Seider, and Lindstrom as RD as soon as next year. That’s not even counting Tuomisto. Ladd is three more years on an anchor of a contract.

I honestly cannot wait till October 6th, every oilers fans best day of the year, DRAFT DAY, I hope the Oilers can get Askarov and hope they get him, Askarov and Konovalov would be a really good tandem for the Oilers

It’s interesting the amount of first round picks on Tampa split between their forwards and defensemen. Seems like Yzerman has a trend in that he can find valuable forwards outside the first.

I do like Detroit's potential depth at RHD. I belong to the school of thought being you cannot have too many defensive prospects. Detroit has the cap flexibility to take on a lot of bad contracts and I hope the returns are better than what I put.

Van would never make that trade. Demko has more value than you think.

He has been rumored before of being ok with Calgary. It is quite unlikely, but we know what his agent is thinking!

I think Benning wants to get rid of that contract BAD. Demko was alright in the reg season, and Van has DiPietro right behind him

This is all ok. We should get higher picks, especially in the Fleury deals, but principally it’s directionally correct (for the Wings - no way Vancouver does that deal). The only thing I don’t agree with at all is bridging Mantha. As the talent on the team improves, that guy could easily blow up. He’s already a $9M impact player according to Dom Lyscuzcyn (spelling?)’ cost performance model. I want that guy locked up for as long as possible.

Screw the bridge deals on Bertuzzi and Mantha both are coming of their 2 year bridge deals. 3 years of Bertuzzi takes him up to UFA Yzerman wont do that with Mantha it eats up 1 year of UFA and it would cost more then $5m per probably at least $6m per if not more. Krug stays in Boston for 6 x 7 to come home to Detroit Krug will want either 7 x $7.5m or 7 x $8.0m not less. And dude we're not retaining $3m on Marc Andre-Fleury and then flipping him to Calgary if we trade for him he plays for us for 2 years.
