But your going to get a ton of backlash for habs fans, the funny thing is every time a Oiler gm makes this trade you get tons of no from hab fans claiming he’s trash to turnaround and hab gms are trading for him all the time.

The reason edmonton makes the chiasson trade is a cap dump otherwise they keep him because he has been good, there just wouldn't be a spot for him if puljujarvi comes back.

If players were given a rating of "trades on this site" divided by "exciting", Chiasson would get the highest rating. Closely followed by Roussel. Then probably Weal.
And Mtl is involved in all the trades with the first two of course...

They aren't rentals if you extend them...

Anyway, based on the Stastny and Hayes trades, the Jets would give up that much youth for two rentals.

I don't think it would get me Laine, because Petry and Danault are both only signed for this year, and also Laine isn't getting traded unless someone like Suzuki is going the other way.

But now you mention it I should have sent Weal for Chiasson.

How about Montreal extends them first and then we can talk about price. Until then, they are just rentals and not worth the ask to Winnipeg.

There's a big difference between paying for rentals when you are making a playoff push as opposed to playing for rentals when you are restructuring. Winnipeg wouldn't do it.
