Ya that is a hard pass by Toronto. We could just sign Pietrangelo and trade Marner for futures if anything.

Leafs and most teams don't have any interest in Karlsson and his contract. If Leafs would/trade Marner it would be to gain cap space.

A. Cap space.

B. An elite defence man
Karlsson is neither of those things.

Petro is better than Karlsson, would be significantly cheaper, and we wouldnt lose our 2nd best player for no reason.
