Not sure why the Rangers do it, cause Anismov isn't worth his contract. Besides Lundqvist, NMC kills a deal to Ottawa.

Agreed that Hanks NMC kills the deal. He has no desire to play in OTT for 1 year.

I'd say that I would have to agree with that statement

Panarin and Anismov could be a good fit and we can get some assets back for Strome.

If Henrik would waive for Ottawa, I don't know why Ottawa wouldn't just look to take the full deal, while getting a significant kicker in return. Maybe something like swapping late 1sts and a 2nd and Ottawa takes the full thing?

I personally don't want to trade more picks/assets for cap. I think we have enough to work with now. Just looking for a body swap that is at positional advantage for both teams. Hank could be a good mentor for Gustavsson and Hogberg.

As for a pick swap by itself, would #22 for #28 and #51 interest you?

Not really. You're mostly pulling from the same pool at 22 compared to 28, and I think the Sens will be better served using their picks to make improvements to the current roster.

That said, there is some precedent for the Sens and Rags making moves like that. Going back to 2017 they swapped picks 22 and 26.

I understand what your thinking here but have an incredibly tough time seeing this one take place. I do think your on the right track just don’t see Ottawa as a team to target. Aside from his clause that could be an issue hard to see Ottawa wanting him would think they would seek out an option that can cover a couple years as apposed to one.
That all being said there is a dark horse team that could make a case of wanting very limited term in goal is Edmonton. While there is lots of goalies available very few of them I’d be interested in handing term to while having kosk on the books holland from my understanding has always leaned towards older experienced goaltenders.

You're overthinking it. Henrik is served as a cap swap with Anismov so their young forwards can step in. Lundqvist will be a mentor to their young Swedish goalies. Smarter way to maneuver their cap.

I don’t know why the Rangers would do this. This only saves you $1 million if you send Anisimov to the AHL, and nothing if you don’t. Wouldn’t it be better to just buy out Lundqvist? That way you save $3 million, and he gets to pick where he can play.

Gives us a replacement for Strome so we can recoup some assets. Artem-Artemi pair is better than Strome lol

Maybe. I do like your thinking here don’t mistake that. Great idea just have a tough time wrapping my head around Ottawa being interested and him waiving. If I’m wrong in this case hope I am because I do actually really like the idea.

Hasn’t Anizimov been playing on Ottawa’s fourth line, though?

Not sure tbh. Im confident in their chemistry considering what he turned strome into and we need to recoup the picks we've thrown away.
