There should be a checklist for a Barkov trade (Or superstars in general). It'd be pretty simple, and go something like this:

-Did you give up a piece that you absolutely don't want to give up?

If you answered yes:
-Ok, now add a solid roster player, a 1st, and another good prospect.

If you answered no:
-Ok, try again.

Maybe Kakko and a pick or Lafreniere and a pick but come on this isnt even close. Barkov is a top 10 center in the league. You dont get that for your castaways. Best part is you uave at 2C like you think he is inferior to Zibanejad when he's actually twice as good

Its nice to shoot homers in their tracks, but you should have stopped here.

Are you suggesting Zibanejad is better than Barkov because thats just not remotely accurate

No he isn't...he is challenging your claim that Barkov is twice as good as Zibanejad (which he isn't, better yes but not twice as good).

Castaways? LOL Learn 2 hockey. Zib is closer than you think and its a matter of chemistry that he would be on the "second" line. Line numbers are meaningless.

DeAngelo is literally in 90% of Rangers trade proposals on this site. That's what a castaway is. Kreider is also included in quite a few proposals since that signing was as stupid as the Faulk one on St. Louis.

As for Barkov, he is 1 year removed from 94 points. He is an exceptional 2-way center and is on par with Matthews and Eichel. So ask yourself "what would it cost to acquire Matthews" and you will be looking at something similar for Barkov

So based on what you are saying anyone who is likely to be traded and discussed frequently on this site is a castaway? Got it. So all the Laine discussion makes him a castaway also I guess. Unreal logic...

Laine has been reported by actual insiders to be on the trade block. DeAngelo has not. Massive difference

I dont know what the hell you are listening to but DeAngelo has been reported to be on the block knowing what the cap situation was in NY before the pause.
