I'd have a very difficult time saying no to this.
Cool. I could see Samsonov being better than UFA goalie options outside of Markstrom right now, and he's 7 years and 21 days younger than Markstrom, and probably about $6M cheaper, this year.

I don't see Nylander leaving Toronto unless they are able to get a top 4 RHD in some way, whether that is by trading Nylander for one or trading him for futures and picks to clear cap space and sign one. Also this likely isn't enough for him anyway. If your trading a forward the conversation likely starts with Vrana not Eller
Thanks. The Caps have two RHD under contract. If Carlson's in a Nylander trade, that's the trade.
Jensen was worth the Caps' top RHD prospect and a 2nd before the cap was flat. Now he's arguably the Caps' best defensive defenseman. What about, say, Eller, Jensen, and Copley?
eta: I think the above trade lets Tor trade Kerfoot for a top four RHD, but.... oh. I got it!!!!! Back to the above idea: WSH throws in UFA rights to Radko Gudas. Might be expensive, but rights to sign a top-four RHD is an asset that could theoretically help Toronto acquire a top four RHD, yeah?
