What’s a fair asking price for him? Earlier I’d proposed our first (25th, I think) straight up for him and was scolded for allowing EDM to rip me off.

a late 1st isnt too far in value. maybe add a 3rd on edmonton's side and I think that would be fair

A late first sounds fair to me don't know if I would do a 3rd from EDM, maybe 4th or 5th. Also the prospect in this deal wouldn't work we have 2 stud LHD prospects already, any other position could probably work.

Great. What would a Puljujarvi for Leason deal look like?

Leason would be a non starter looking for LW or Centre position plus a late first or high second

Travis Boyd plays center. Has played some LW, but is a right hand shot, which I think makes him valuable to some teams, but probably not Edmonton. He was 5th on the Caps in points/60 this year. Pretty close to that last year, as well. At a likely cap hit around 1M, he's about Barclay Goodrow valuable. Do you think Pool Party is still as valuable as Barclay Goodrow, right now?

Really think all the talk is for nothing he’ll be playing on McDavids wing this yr and most likely for yrs to come
He’s grown up and realized you have to work you can’t get by on talent in the pros even his play from last to this yr in ligga is night and day

Cool. Leaving Pool Party to McDavid, then, I'd love to see Travis Boyd get a shot at 3C. His offense is just too good for a 4th line/PK role. What do you think Edmonton could offer for a utility forward to try out centering their third line, who might just get some more offense going there, than they've had, and should be really cheap.

Boyed can’t stick in the nhl he has decent numbers in the AHL but his game doesn’t seem to translate to the nhl and he’s 27 his development is over Edmonton’s not putting him in as our 3rd line centre

Yeah. Uh. Remember when we were talking about Puljujarvi still having value, a minute ago. Back then, it was like you understood that some coaches just don't appreciate some players. Boyd got 2.24 points/60 this year when he got on the ice. That would put him at 6th on the Oilers, between Draisaitl and Kassian. Pretty big range, there. Not sure if that's awesome, or.... yeah.

I don’t have anything against the player
Small sample size skews number
He’s 27 with how heavily the league is scouted by every teams pro scouts if a team thought the caps were wasting his talent he would have been traded by now by how little the caps have used him he could’ve been had for mid rd pick
If we was 23 this is a completely different conversation he’s 27 pro scouts have scouted him for close to 8 yrs I appreciate you fighting for a player your like and would like to see given a chance but I’m just being straight with you he’s a fringe nhler at this point of his career not a break out 3rd line centre

I don’t see your point it drives mine home he still played games in the AHL after that and he’d be require clearing waivers to be sent down and 30 passed on him 2 yrs in a row for the cost of nothing 3rd line centres don’t clear waivers they get claimed

Then I think the Caps should keep him and play him. Thanks for your input.
