When does it go into effect? According to this handy website, 2023-24, so I presume July 1 and he could be traded anywhere before then?

Kuznetsov has a 15 team NTC. I’d bet good money EDM is on it

What’s a fair asking price for him? Earlier I’d proposed our first (25th, I think) straight up for him and was scolded for allowing EDM to rip me off.

Orlov is LHD. He played some RHD in the playoffs last month

Thread:
Brodin to WSH
Brodin is a solid player, but we’ve invested high draft picks in four LHD over the years (Sieg, Alexeyev, Johansen, and Fehervary); if this team is going to contend then at least of those guys is going to have to be able to play big minutes starting next season. Meanwhile on the right side we’ve got Carlson (a legit 1D), Jensen (a bottom pair Dman in my opinion)...and no one else unless you’re moving someone to their off side. I think we need to land a legit top 4 RHD in free agency.

Russell Hamilton
Pietrangelo is great, but having him and Carlson is a bit redundant. We need a shutdown top 4 RHD and can get one a lot cheaper than what Pietrangelo will cost.

Khudobin will want a raise, have to pay Gurianov (he just got more expensive) and Hintz while Heiskanen is up for a new deal next year. I’m not sure DAL can afford to keep Khudobin; they have some bad contracts and an owner who is bleeding money.

Caps easily do that TBL trade but TBL wouldn't.</div></div>
I would do that trade in second. But Calgary is for sure one of the teams on Kuzy’s no trade list

Taylor Hall part II
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Just for the sake of getting Hall off of New Jersey, this is fine.
Over the last three years, Hall has thirty more points than Oshie. Forty over the last six. When he's healthy he's a lot better, and he's more likely to keep improving, if he can stay healthy. But keeping Oshie and adding a $4M offensive player who adds forty points a year to the lineup would probably do more for the team, overall.</div></div>
Oshie has a lot of miles on him and I’d be more worried about him missing more time going forward given his style of play. Hall, when healthy, is literally an MVP-caliber talent. I say go all-in for the last few years of Ovi’s prime (if he ever slows down).

Taylor Hall part II
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rootferdukes</b></div><div>If GMBM wants to make the most of the final years of the Ovechkin/Backstrom era, this is the best case scenario and should be his Plan A. Also love that you resigned Gudas, that'd be a great move if D prospects don't live up to expectations this year.</div></div>
I like the idea of having a team thats a pain in the ass to play against, and Gudas fits that (although I might have gone a little cheap on the re-sign for him). Also there are no RHD in the prospect pipeline ready to see NHL minutes anytime soon. Ideally, I’d like to see us be able to move Orlov and Kempny’s contracts off the books as (hopefully) Alexeyev and Fehervary become NHL-ready on a nightly basis — I think both have the potential to be top 4 NHL d-men. I’m not certain Djoos and Sieg have top-4 ceilings and may be best suited on the bottom pairing.
