Description
Trying something different by trading the 4th overall. Arizona wants to shed salary and add picks and younger players, does not want to trade within the conference. Vegas misses out on AP and settles with OEL, we add 2 young pieces and we take MAF for cap purposes. JR may want MAF back, may have to settle for a 2nd... Trade deadline move with Staal, will probably move LG, DH as well but we will only get a couple of mid round picks for them. We are still going to suck for a couple of years but we are building a base of good young talent.

there's no way that you get 1 1st round pick just by taking 3.5 million and jack johnson

OEL isn't worth 4th overall, even if it was 4th overall alone

Only team that does it is Arizona and boy this isn’t the direction I’d want to go. We essentially take on cap dumps (JJ) and retain 7M on MAF for Krebs/Hague at the expense of 4OA, 32OA, Cholowski, Svechnikov, and a future 2nd.

OK, so this is how I look at it. Does OEL make Vegas better today? Yes he does. They are concerned with winning now. NH is playing but in a limited role, PK will not play for another 2 years and MAF will barely be alive 2 years from now and on top of that they get another pick. As far as Pittsburg goes, JR is your GM so anything can happen, however, we are taking on 3 years of 3.25M and you get a quality backup should TJ crap the bed in the playoffs (the window is closing for you) and you get a pick in 2021. Just my 2 cents.

These would be terrible trades for the Wings.

#4 overall you are looking at Tier 3 guys like Drysdale, Rossi, Holtz, Perfetti, or Raymond. Those guys are better than Krebs. Now look at Hague. He's essentially Cholowski only 1 year younger. Even if you rate him better there's not that much difference to make up for the loss of the #4 and #32 picks.

Now you trade a 2021 2nd rounder for a 2022 1st rounder and a 2021 3rd rounder for a 2022 2nd rounder (which is the going rate if you are dealing future picks--one round sooner). So no real advantage there.

And the Wings lose all kinds of cap space taking on salary retains of Fleury and Staal plus Jack Johnson's contract...

sorry but this fails to help the Wings at all. The other teams you mention okay....but not the Wings.

Haha marc Staal goes for litterally nothing, but the wings flip him for a second?? To a team that has too many defensemen as it stands right now.

But why bob?

laugh laugh Talking about major overpayment on Oliver Ekman-Larsson, So we give up Svechnikov+Cholowski+Detroit's 2020 1st round pick #4+Detroit 2020 2nd round pick #32. And then you deal Ekman-Larsson to Vegas for Hague, Krebs and Marc Andre-Fleury trash offer for Detroit and then on top we give up the Rangers 2021 2nd round pick how does this help us both Tuch and Glass would need to be involved and then we deal MAF to Pittsburgh for Johnson and a late 2022 1st round pick talking about derailing a rebuild. God this is awful for Detroit dude you need to layoff the crack.

Who freaking cares if OEL makes Vegas better, Why would we give up the #4 pick and #32 pick and then flip OEL to Vegas? OEL alone isn't worth the #4 pick then you basically get us garbage in MAF, Hauge and Krebs at least include Tuch and Glass in the deal it's a little more fair for us. That's pure trash and goes against everything Yzerman said he'd do. You just single handily set back our rebuild 10 years nice job.

So we pretty much know that Svech and Cholo are not very good right? I mean, lets be honest, they are not. So we give up two picks for a known commodity in OEL and get back NH and PK both prospects that are pretty close to being NHL ready, how good are they going to be? nobody really knows, however, our 4th and 32nd could be busts as well, And we get a second an extra 1st and 2nd in 2022 which is the Shane Wright draft and we definitely need somebody like that.
