Not trading both DeBrusk and Bjork for Nurse and you don't need Hall AND Palmieri. Hall won't sign that and better have Palmieri with an extension.

Good team. But that’s pretty pricey for Palmieri, even with an extension.

Chara plays 3rd pair in this scenario.

But it certainly makes them a Cup frontrunner.

Considering the role I’d rather do nurse for debrusk and Ritchie.
Bjork is better than Ritchie but I see it being a fourth line role with JJ and trying to bring offence to that line is a waste of time and effort in my opinion rather just make it a big physical tough line to battle against. Also think this counter offer is more suited for Bruins to consider

You just slammed that window shut.

Why not keep young talent and sign say hoffman or dadynov who are better than Palmieri?

They aren't better. Palmieri is better all-around than both. Hoffman scores goals and that's it. Someone will likely overpay for him. Not sure Dadonov is the best fit.

I think Palmieiri is better fit for Boston's system/style than any of the free agents, but think he resigns in NJD regardless.

They are better. I don't want another 5'10" forward who is physical but doesn't really hit. His possession numbers are garbage & he has2 goals in his last 21 playoff games.

    NO THANK YOU.

" I don't want another 5'10" forward who is physical but doesn't really hit " What does this even mean? Their job is not to hit, it's to get the puck to the/in the net. Who cares if they're not physical, leave that to Wagner and Kuraly.

'14-15 is 5 years ago and NJ didn't have any chance against TB in '18.

Palmieri would be an excellent fit for the Bs style of play & the cost seems spot on if you're being fair. May even prove to be a bargain, depending on time of year & extention possibility. He's a sure thing, a proven commodity... the others have questions (Kase) or speculative value. Bs want to win now, not speculate.

What does that mean? Really? Have you not watched their forwards be erased by bigger teams over the past two years? Two things to point out. 1) If you overall goal is to score goals and you have already added hall - the possession player might be the better play. Who is hoffman, but also is Kase even more. The difference is not worth Kase, vaak and a 2nd. If they wanted Palmieri that badly they would have traded for him last deadline and it would have cost the 1st. This is essentially two 1sts and 2nd for 1 year of Palmieri

    2) Palmieri isn't what they need. He is not. They need size. They are too small. Adding Brett Ritchie who sucks isn't going to help that. You need size who can play. Hoffman is not that either. Not saying that. If I am giving up this much, I am not adding another small guy who can score until the defenseman get REAL tough and block everything. Again, you write off 2 goals in last 21 playoff games. No. That is what they already have.

Notice Coyle has been the best Bruin two years running because he is huge, and that matters. It does. Coyle isn't particularly tough, but it's a lot harder to move him than anyone in the top 6. Guys who will wear down the Hedman's and Peitrangelo/Paryako's.

Again, I don't want goons, not what I am talking about. The Bruins need to be harder to play against. Bergeron is tallest/biigest top 6 at 6'1" 195lb. That wears down round after round.

Leaving that to Kurlay and Wagner doesn't work either. Cause they can't do it all and get hurt and you are left with Ritchie mugging people and Kuhlman trrying to earn a spot.

That package for Palmieri is far from equivalent to two firsts and a second. At least be fair in your evaluation. Kase is not the same value as a 1 and there are some very real questions about what UV will become. He can skate sure, but does he project to more than a depth Defenseman (5/6) at the NHL level? Right now, if youre honest, likely not.
Palmieri might not be a giant, but he is a tough SOB who grinds along the walls, mixes it up in front and drops an occasional snipe. Bs can use that more than Kase and futures right now.

Again - this really has nothing to do with Palmieri.

Vaakaianan projects as a top pairing D man. Question is really a 1 or 2. There really aren't any question about him. He made a very deep Bruins defensive team a 20. He got elbowed and sustained a concussion in his 2nd game. He is the literal reason they are not overreaching for Krug.

The Bruins literally drafter Vaak in the 1st rd in 2017.
They also Traded a 1st for Kase at the deadline. Sure Backes was involved, but Kase was worth a 1st alone.

Palmieri is plenty tough. So is Marchand and Pastrnak, & Krejci, but they are small.

You don't know much about the Bruins, it's cool.

Putting the concussion recovery time aside, I think there remains questions on UV. I agree he is an NHL caliber D, but to say there is no questions about him, as a slam dunk first pairing, seems overly optimistic. Its not a fan friendly view & Im not saying he's a first round bust, but you can't say he's a sure thing first pairing. No malice here, just don't agree with you, but I guess we will see. First round pick pedigree doesn't always equate to first round future value.

Kase is similar, just because you gave up a one at the deadline (with other attachments) doesn't mean you can get one now for him. I just dont see it ... who do you think would do that trade? Love the player, fair contract, but 1st's are just too valuable.

But maybe, as you say, I don't know much about the Bs. smile)) Hell, I dont know much about anything for that matter.

    Enjoy the off-season.

We're not in 2010. Start by scoring at 5v5 first.
Tell me who would you trade for to get " bigger " (realistically obviously), don't come out with Mark Stone or Alex Ovechkin or names like that who are not available for trades.

The biggest problem is the 5-on-5 scoring. It's not that we lack size or grit or physicality. Ovechkin or Kucherov or Eichel won't be scared because Brian Boyle is playing in our top6

tuch, krieder, crouse, landeskog, huberdeau, anderson, mantha, laine, boeser, virtanan, greenway, voracek, smith (again).

all to varying degrees obviously - adding one to each 2nd and 3rd line.
    Debrusk/ Zboril/Frederic - Tuch
    2nd/zboril/bjork = Anderson/crouse/Virt/greenway

Kreider's contract won't look good soon. Landeskog is UFA in one year and COL isn't moving him. Crouse, Virtanen, Greenway are not a top6 players. Voracek is overpaid for his production. Boeser, Smith, Huberdeau aren't " big ", the first one is available tho. Laine will cost too much.
Anderson middle-six, it could work. Tuch and Smith could be available but depends on VGK; doubt.

The only guy here that can be a top6 option, is big and is available: Anderson. Even then, he's a 3rd liner for now and don't try to convince me he is better than Palmieri.

Once again, teams won't get scared because of one guy.
