Again - this really has nothing to do with Palmieri.
Vaakaianan projects as a top pairing D man. Question is really a 1 or 2. There really aren't any question about him. He made a very deep Bruins defensive team a 20. He got elbowed and sustained a concussion in his 2nd game.
The Bruins literally drafter Vaak in the 1st rd in 2017.
They also Traded a 1st for Kase at the deadline. Sure Backes was involved, but Kase was worth a 1st alone.
Palmieri is plenty tough. So is Marchand and Pastrnak, & Krejci, but they are small.
You don't know much about the Bruins, it's cool.
Putting the concussion recovery time aside, I think there remains questions on UV. I agree he is an NHL caliber D, but to say there is no questions about him, as a slam dunk first pairing, seems overly optimistic. Its not a fan friendly view & Im not saying he's a first round bust, but you can't say he's a sure thing first pairing. No malice here, just don't agree with you, but I guess we will see. First round pick pedigree doesn't always equate to first round future value.
Kase is similar, just because you gave up a one at the deadline (with other attachments) doesn't mean you can get one now for him. I just dont see it ... who do you think would do that trade? Love the player, fair contract, but 1st's are just too valuable.
But maybe, as you say, I don't know much about the Bs.
)) Hell, I dont know much about anything for that matter.
Enjoy the off-season.
