You're not wrong, Hanifin Deangelo is a good change of scenery for Hanifin and probably the only guy I would want to see Hanifin traded for, I love Hanifin but if there is anywhere Calgary could move a guy from it's LW or LD. Probably lopsided to MTL but I took the trade from elsewhere.

Why do I always get confused with this pick. Would the Carolina pick not be at 13?

The pick Carolina has at #13 was originally the Toronto 1st Rounder.

Good quick tip to remember: Carolina made the playoffs, Toronto didn't. Carolina's own pick has to be above #16 no matter who has it.

It's every GM's top priority to re sign their top RFA's. That is not breaking news. Tyler Johnsons a good fit but you get less than half the trade value.

Gm was quoted today. He has been on the phone. He knows he has to move pieces and make tough decisions. Tyler will be moved at a discount he did not have a good playoff run. Cedric and coburn also w lower picks in return. Killorn also and will bring back a second round pick. The big issue will be finding two cheap good defense men. Forwards we have plenty coming up.

I like what you have done. Couple of questions.

Do you think Cirelli can be had for that value? I don't know. I have seen suggestions that he could sign form 4.2 to 6.3. Which is a big range.

Max has a better PPG avg but I am not sure it's worth 2m more. Is he rumored to be wanting 6m?

Not sure about the Hanafin trade but I didn't watch the Rangers at all this year. I do think Hanafin still has room to grow. You did leave cap room to keep him if you wanted.

I think that Cirelli is one of the toughest contracts to predict just because he is such a hot commodity, if he was UFA I would absolutely see him getting much more than what I have above, but I think that giving him a contract that gives him an opportunity to negotiate an 8 year deal at the age of 27 before hitting the open market is attractive to a player.

Love Hanifin, I think he develops into a top end D man for sure, Deangelo brings a little more punch immediately and fits Calgary's core age really well right now.
