This is a big gamble for a team that has some big contracts to get done before those 4 years are up.

Wow. It could end up being a good signing he’s very tough to judge right now. He was a goal scorer in Detroit but defensively well non existent but in Edmonton actually looked like the opposite so I think he has both sides of the game in him if can put it together in jersey that could very well turn into a bargain. Not a gamble I’d personally take on but if you got the cap space....

Zajac, Palms, and Cory, and Subban will eventually be gone. We'll have the space to develop and eventually sign Hughes to a great deal, along with Ty Smith, Boqvist, and Blackwood.
