Assuming Barre-Boulet can immediately step in, this would work. But I was not assuming an undrafted player with 0 NHL games would slide right into a line with Stamkos and Cirelli. It is possible though.

hes not suited for a bottom 6 role and what better way to most out of him offensively, and draft pedigree does nothing for me

replace ABB with Bobby Ryan on the 2nd line and I would call this the perfect offseason result

Bobby Ryan won't be cheap enough to leave a minimum for roster spot number 23 unless he takes 750K-, or 725K if you want both on the roster

In past Lightning team iterations the third line was the small offensive forward line. Draft pedigree is not my main point though, he's AHL hardened but with not even 1 NHL game under him. If he played 10 games and scored a goal or two last year I would be more confident. I am actually quite curious why he never got the chance to play last year. Mental note for if I ever see JBB in a bar.

Oh I can't see this team running 23 unless Stammer goes on LTIR for a month. they will almost certainly be running a 22 man roster this year

Tyler Johnson slid straight in next to Stamkos and St Louis.

It all depends on what ABB can show in camp. The AHL guys won't have played hockey for 10 months at that point. But you play with you got at some point given the cap issues. I think you could spend a little less on Cirelli, and maybe Sergachev too, with 2 year "covid" contracts. Cirelli 2x3.5m, Sergie 2x4m. The players have to understand the situation.

Also I don't see them going into a full season with that RHD situation. I expect they'll bring in somebody like they did with Shattenkirk.

Love the thought of bringing Hank somehow and giving him another shot at a cup.
