OEL Hanafin

Description
Personally I think the OEL trade is near fair value. If it took Urho to get done instead of Lauzon id probably still do it. As for this hanafin trade, I really dont know. Tuukka's trade value im completely unsure of, Grizz is there to replace hanafin, again dont know if the flames would even have interest in Grizz and I threw in a pick for a sweetener. Tuukka probably isn't moving but maybe it happens. Let me know what you guys think!

Overpay by the Bruins on the Calgary trade. No confidence Markström and Halak lead the Bs to a cup.

Calgary isn't even close to considering that trade for Hanifin, even if Rask does play in the upcoming season. Rask may never play again. Not even a first instead of a second gets Tre to return the call and start a conversation.

I’d rather just give Krug what he’s looking for and keep the assets honestly.

I mean he and OEL are the same age, both struggle defensively. Why give away the assets? If they are willing to bring in OEL for 8 at 8.25 then there is no reason not to sign Krug at 8 for 7.5. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Makes no sense. Unless they can get the retention, but Zona is on record they don’t want to retain. Can’t blame them. 8 years.

IMO the flames come out as a better team after this trade, as do the Bruins. The value may not all be there but both teams do improve in areas of need. What if we retained some money on Tuukka? I think him and Rittich would make a great 1-2. And Grizz while he isn't hanafin is a real solid 2nd pair 2-W dman that has some offensive upside.

I just don’t think Hanifin is that good. If you’re going to make a move like this, i would go after Lindholm.

Markstrom isn't signing that cheaply, He'd just stay in Vancouver at that price. And why would Calgary have any interest in a self centered Tuuka Rask?

Why would the Flames want Rask for $7M and signed for just 1 more season, especially when he walked away from a team that had a shot to win the cup? As I said, he probably won't even play. It doesn't fix their goaltending problems at all. He walks next summer.

Why wouldn't Calgary just sign Markstrom for $6.0 x 5 years instead and keep Hanifin? I just out bid you in the UFA market. As someone else said, he isn't signing for that little. (Vegas got a hometown discount on Lehner so he could stay in Vegas with a really good team.)

Hannifin looking more and more like a bust. Bs wanted him before but not sure they do now.

I don’t think him AND OEL anyway.

You think it’s some giant coincidence that tampa plays three left D, and three right D? Most teams do this. Not rocket science.
