That's why Detroit should have never taken that Staal contract for just a 2nd rounder. Stevie Y did Gorton a favour

Doesn't mcdonagh have like five years left? That would be deadly to have with kakko and lag to sign

Yea but in my ideal word they trade for Mcdonagh and move out Trouba. So the top 4 would be
Mcdonagh - DeAngelo
Lindgren- Fox

That would be deadly for years to come and Mcdonagh could help the Young D

Yea, unlike most Rangers fans id be willing to retain 2 million to move him. Because as long as the Rangers don't sign anymore stupid long contracts than they will have no buyout penalties and if we r only missing 2 mil of the salary would be pretty easy to maneuver around

Ya trouba at six would be doable, honestly the 8 isn't terrible its more the flat cap circumstances that make it worse. If in two years the cap was at 85/86 there'd be no stress around up having it or moving it.

Not many players "go back" to a team that traded them.. but McDonough is still a top 5 lock down defensive D in NHL and should be for another couple years.. he would help Rangera immensely

Yea and especially considering how cap crunched Tampa is and i think the Rangers are one of the few teams Mcdonagh would waive for
