This is what I think CAR *should* do, which is all systems go for a cup because of having Svech ELC and Dougie's (likely) final year, so assess accordingly

They're all unknowns but the added CAR prospects in the trades are all either quality 2nd or 3rd rounders

Gusev UFA-1 = trade value ?? but NJ want good depth

Carolina should do none of this. That Pesce trade is awful. The 3rd pairing and 2nd line would be some of the worst defensive groups in the league. There is no guarantee that Georgiev is a better starter.

What we should do is stop bargain hunting but all the bargain hunting last off-season is preventing us from adding a key piece this off-season.

We have what we need to be successful, just need it all to come together.
