Bring in Raanta trade away Strome

Created by: KingsLover
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 12, 2020
Published: Oct. 12, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team at best is the 8th seed, but more realistically is battling for 6th place in the central with Minnesota and maybe Nashville. I think another season outside the playoffs and the club should look into trading Toews and Kane.
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Foligno, Marcus
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
The Hawks get a physical beast for their 3rd line who can chip in 10+ goals and play well defensively. The return for Strome isn't great but I don't see them getting a great offer.
MIN
  1. Strome, Dylan [RFA Rights]
  2. 2021 5th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Minny improves their centre depth and this move allows them to not play Johansson at centre and move him to the wing where he plays best.
2.
CHI
  1. Raanta, Antti ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Hawks get a very good starter in Raanta at a retained salary, who can perhaps be good enough to sneak CHI into the playoffs as a wildcard.
ARI
  1. Altybarmakyan, Andrei
  2. Delia, Collin
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Yotes get a decent prospect, a 2nd and a goalie in Delia who can be there 2nd or 3rd guy depending on if they think he's better than Hill.

Why would Chicago do that Wild trade, that absolutely sucks for us and if we’re 8th seed, why are we trading a 2nd
SlickWilly and ChiHawk liked this.

They trade the 2nd because Stan Bowman would love to just make the playoffs. And they need good goaltending, plus with Raanta retained I think he earns a 2nd. Also yeah now that I think about it, the Wild deal does suck.

Yeah true, I was gonna do Jordan Greenway, but he just resigned, and I don't see Guerin just trading somebody he resigned because its a bad look.
