Needed to free up a tiny amount of cap. I think Hanifin for DeBrusk straight up, no retained, is equal. Maybe the B's throw in a 3rd.

You can think they are equal all you want but Calgary's need for a player like Hanifin vastly outweighs their needs for a player like DeBrusk

Don't think Hoffman will agree with those $$$ and can't see Calgary having anything to do with a retention, much less a trade for Hanifin. It appears that upper Bruin management have a self-imposed internal cap, effectively hand-cuffing Sweeney and Neely, so that it is what it is. No more trades or signings. What you have now is what you have to make a team of.

Thats the feeling I'm getting as well, which isn't ideal. I'm thinking maybe another depth signing or two. Nordstrom or a player like that.

look elsewhere, I highly doubt we would move Hanifin with question marks still on Valimaki and Gio's impending regression

Bruins don't need 2 dmen. Only one, Chara will return and they will go with the youth.

Team with very few d-men trades away one of their top dmen...seems a bit foolish, unfortunately.
