Why? the defense is solid and the goaltending is good so long as ullmark doesn't get injured.

I literally just pointed out these stats in another Sabres fan boy post.

114 games 39 points for mittelstat
157 games 41 points for Dermott

A first round pick forward from 2017 should have far more points than a D man who has never cracked higher than 5th on our depth chart, get over yourself he's a fourth liner that can fill in on the third line if need be, other than that he's a bust. And if you seriously think ullmark is a better goalie you need to see a psychologist.

So we're getting rid of two of our best prospects at forward for a guy we don't want and couldn't afford anyway?

Yeah alright tears of joy

What's wrong with it? Reilly muzzin and brodie are all legitamate top 4 guys and have been for years. bear showed this past season that hes a very reliable guy, ask literally any oilers fan. Bogosian showed in tampa that with a reduced role he can still be effective. Lehtonen was rated a top defenseman in the KHL.

I'm not even close to a toronto fan and i can see it

Okay. Let's say you're right. Ullmark has never played more than 40 games of a season, and Jack Campbell ain't your go-to guy if you need backup. Goodluck getting anywhere close to a 900 save percentage between the two, unless one of them is spectacular. Probably not happening, and considering a lot of those forwards can't back check, and even if you say the defense are top four, there is not a top 20 dean in thats squad. That all combines to give a very low chance of low scoring games against you.

Can't really argue with the forwards bit.

You're definitely underrating ullmark then. Yes he hasn't played 60 games in a season yet, but that's because as i stated originally, he had trouble with health issues. If he stays healthy he'd easily be a starter that could put up numbers either slightly below, or at what anderson already does. Also you don't need a top 20 nhl defenseman so long as the entire defense core is solid, which in this case it is.

Ok sense you like stats
Ullmark .915
Andersen. 909

My psychologist said that a .915 is better save percentage than .909. Soooooooooooooo
And a dman who tops out at 2nd pairing< the potential top 6 center
Dermot is better now and maybe always will be but would rather roll the dice on mitts than take a low ceiling guy like dermott. Same thing with Ullmark. He is younger cheaper and as of least year better.

I like Ullmark but again the question mark is after 40 games can he handle a starting position? I do believe with the blue line put together here he could - in no way is Ullmark a lateral or upgrade on Andersen - Buffalo would certainly be better off with an experienced work horse like Andersen over Ullmark and Hutton that can't be denied. The Leafs have a decision to make in the net in the near future , I myself have no issue with aquiring Ullmark and running a Campbell Ullmark tandem. As for Mitts there is no top 6 potential especially if Buffalo continues to not develop their prospects this is on Buffalo not Mitts

Lol you took a stat from one year. A year in which Andersen had zero defense. Look at every other year. And then flip it the other way for ullmark 1 okay good year with a pretty good d core infront of him

Lol or we can compare when ullmark was the starter and when andersen was the starter. And all you tor fans love to say how ****ty buffs defense is but now you're saying its good. So thats interesting.

I have never once said their defense was "s****" I have said that the dmen in proposed deals don't make sense for us (Montour/risto)

Let's do that , let's compare Ullmark as a starter to Andersen.
Ullmark: 97 GP 2.81 GA .911 Save percentage that's over 5 seasons most games played in a season (2018/19) 37gp 3.11 GA and a .905 the following season 34gp 2.69GA and .915 save percentage better season but has never been a starter (under 50GP is not a starting Goalie

Andersen: 213 GP 2.63GA and .917 save percentage, has played less than 50 games in 2 out of 7 seasons

These 2 players can't be compared
