I love the franchise mode in theory, but I always get turned off by the deterministic nature of these ratings. I wish there'd be a roof for each player, and then just a likelihood distribution of where they end up between where they are and that ceiling. For a guy like MacKinnon it wouldn't move a lot, but for say Burakovsky, there should be possibilities he turns into either an elite sniper or nothing more than he is, or that he has peaked and starts regressing. Toews is probably already a top pairing D, but why can't he move between legit #1 and nothing more than a #4 with the likliest option being a #2? It's very much a binary system if they reach their potential or not, so the game becomes super predictable... Idk, sorry for ranting on your post I guess
