I think it's fairly even value and fits needs for both teams. CAR has depth to spare for an upgrade in scoring and WPG needs a top-4 LHD. Necas can step into the 2C role next year too.

I do expect them to make him their 1RW eventually, with Perfetti assuming the 2C role. But that's just me.

Dunno if Canes can afford that. As I said earlier:

Leave Nino in the deal as a cap dump.

Winnipeg Jets
Laine 50% retained
Niku

Carolina Hurricanes
Necas
Bean
Niederreiter

Ehh, I dunno about that. Your team has a great top line but there's a cliff behind 'em. I mean...

Laine-Aho-Teräväinen
Foegele-Trocheck-Svechnikov

...as your future TOP6 is something worth investing in if you ask me...

Top 6 yea, top 3, no. We need more a 2nd line producer not a 9+ million dollar winger.

Well he'd need to score in a high rate to become a $9M winger. Think it'll be closer to that QO of his ($7,5M). Any more than that and it's probably fully deserved.

Still would make it way too hard for Canes to re-sign Laine and their own stars in Svech and Hamilton. They'd need to be shedding cup like madmen to make it work.

Then they will need to move skjei somewhere else. I mean the jets could take gardiner too but taking on 5m in cap dump is already pretty good and canes take zero bad money.

I do not think the canes are willing to part with Necas. He was very good as a rookie in a sheltered role and he has the potential to be at minimum at 60 point 2nd line center. If there is a way the canes can get the deal done without Necas i think they do it, otherwise i think they are better off exploring other less costly assets. Id love to see the canes get Laine but not if necas is included.

For sure...it's capfriendly haha
He's a polarizing figure for sure and has the potential of 50 goals if he's a top line guy. Sure his defensive game needs work, but he's young and that's teachable. What's not teachable is his cannon of a shot. If he is traded the jets need to ask for the moon. He has 3 more years of team control
