I wouldn't want to do this. Cirelli is probably Cozens floor for the future based on current projections.

helps them now but not worth it in 2 or 3 years imo. Cozens could be really good. I'd go with a protected 1st, a prospect, and then one of the RHD's with salary retained

terrible trade for the sabres. Cozens has a much higher ceiling

Cozen’s floor is a 53pt pace while playing Selke level defense? I like Cozens but I’d temper my minimum expectations on prospects.

No I think if all goes well with Cozens we can see him as a 70-80 point centerman who drives the play when he's on the ice. Defensively he will be proficient but not at the level of Cirelli. However, Buffalo needs another potent offensive piece, so Cozens is more valuable to us

No. You don't trade Dylan Cozens.

Cirelli is good, Cozens has the potential to be great...not to mention Cozens is on a cheap ELC for 3 years, something the Sabres desperately need so they can fill out their roster.

(Also, Olofsson laughs at you for that price.)

I can definitely see that has his potential/ceiling but to say his floor is a center that produces 50+ while being elite defensively is a bit of a head scratcher to me. What I’m saying is that he does have high potential but he can also not live up to expectations like any prospect so I wouldn’t throw such a high floor expectation at him. Every fan base does it like saying Seider will be a top pairing guy when he could be a second pairing guy if his offense doesn’t improve.

Bringing in a big contract like Cirelli really inhibits Buffalo when it comes to signing Rasmus Dahlin next off season, especially if there is any chance of them keeping Hall beyond one year, the Sabres need Cozens (and Jack Quinn) to produce while they are still on the ELC's until Okposo's contract comes off the books
