What's next for this Caps team? I think a change of scenery for Ho-Sang and Johansen could bode well for both players. I've heard the Caps may go with 8 D this year while obviously only playing 6 with 2 scratches. This makes me assume Jensen is going to stay for at least through the year. This makes me think a forward may be moved before the new hockey season starts. I've seen many Caps fans that want Panik to get traded including myself. Supposedly SJ needs wingers. So if we trade any forward this offseason, I think SJ would be a good landing spot. Obviously the compensation wouldn't be great, but I think a 5th and 7th is a reasonable deal for both sides.

Value is fine, but the Sharks can't afford Panik and have no room for him, so it's gonna be a no thanks.

They were wrong. Any sharks fan with decent knowledge would say no. We can just sign someone if we needed a Panik type player

Objectively, the Sharks are going to be spending the next season or two refreshing the pipeline and are extremely unlikely to be willing to trade away any picks, much less picks for a bottom six forward that they can't really afford. They're much, much more likely to wind up trading players for picks at the trade deadline.
