Instead of Richardson I'd go for a depth d-man

I don't know why everyone is so gungho about trading Evans. He had a great year after being called up and will probably be in the opening day lineup. Let the kid grow into his role.

Evans is not traded. He plays 4C the whole season and Anisimov is just for the playoffs.

How and why does Kulak get a better return than a heavily retained Anisimov?

He's younger, is signed for two more years and is an effective bottom 4 dmen.

Anisimov is the one guy I don't expect to get traded. If you don't understand why, spend a few minutes actually researching the player.

I'd do it. Is Weal good on PK? Don't know to much about him.

Right most trade Evans but in this proposal you are benching. Got to say not the best way to install confidence.

He can always re-sign in Ottawa in free agency. There's no point for Ottawa to just let him expire if they are not in contention while they could get a pick for him.

How much money is left on Anisimov's contract?

He's more of a Powerplay specialist lmao, at least in Julien's eyes. He's a decent player who gets too much hate. For a 6th it's a really good trade for any team who has cap space.

If he's good defensively I'll definitely take it. Need a Fast replacement and I remember seeing a Habs fan say he was good at defense? If so, deal lol.

Kulak is probably worth more than Anisimov, even if Anisimov is free, as he is in this trade with only $1.5MM left to be paid, but neither is worth these draft picks.

Teams are up against the cap, and depth guys are replaceable with cheaper AHL options. Any fourth line or bottom pairing guy making over $1MM will be difficult to trade. Supply and demand, more teams trying to unload then there are looking to buy.

Evans has a 2-way deal for the first year. He won’t be benched he would be sent to the minors to get more ice time behind Peohling if neither of them make the team

He could still play if Byron's injured

IF he is so effective it then MTL would want to keep him. not trade for more forwards for an already stacked forward corps.

We're already stacked at LD, unfortunately. Chiarot-Edmundson-Weber-Romanov-Mete. Not to mention Norlinder, Struble, Harris, Guhle.
