Description

It seems as though the forward group is set for this season - for now - and there will be some competition in training camp for some of those bottom 6 spots. I would argue that GMBT has probably signed one or two too many guys that would otherwise have been given to AHL guys who need a chance, but I digress. GMBT is apparently looking for RHD depth and we all Sami Vatanen is still available and could be a good fit... if we can lose some salary.

Defense wise we are fine. Loosing ryan forces us to use someone fairly new on the pk

Ryan Carpenter was on our top pk and he played pretty good on there and he's on a cheap contract

Not disagreeing with you at all, i would take carpenter. Not gonna spend the assets on Murphy though

I think people are seriously overvaluing adding another defenceman and don’t see the flames shipping out Ryan unless they absolutely need cap space

If it were me, and the price was the same, I'd take Hamonic over Vatanen. But, after bailing on the team during the playoffs (albeit, for the best reasons), I don't see him returning.
