If Killorn and Johnson are moved, BriseBois can sign all 3 RFAs Tampa will have close to $12.5 million move out both Coburn and Paquette and that opens up nearly $3.4 million on top. BriseBois has some options here. But he needs to move out one of Gourde or Palat as well.

I'd rather keep Grimaldi -- it's be a pick or something for Killorn. Though I don't think NSH is looking at any potential deals right now.

Adding Johnson to the deal (without retention) will cost a lot more for TB..

That's assuming the players are willing to sign for what you have proposed which you do not know if that's the case.

Kings would be happy to accept that if that's all it takes to get Sergachev.

What choice do they have, Neither has arbitration rights yet. They've no choice but to accept what BriseBois gives them. I mean if they want to sign an offer sheet that's fine. But from what's being reported out of Tampa neither Cirelli nor Sergachev want to sign them both are willing to take much less to stay in Tampa and try to win another cup.

As of right now they have about 2.9M in cap space. That's probably enough for Cernak. They then will have to trade one or two of Stamkos, Palat, Killorn, McDonagh, Gourde, and Johnson.

I doubt Stamkos is going to get traded because nobody is willing to pay that price.

Nobody wants McDonagh because of his age and contract unless Tampa takes a lowball return.

Gourde is probably immovable.

Johnson is almost as immovable as Gourde.

Killorn and Palat will be the easiest to move and trade them in order to sign Cirelli and Sergachev they lose two top 6 wingers and have zero cap space to replace them and therefore can't put a complete team on the ice.

They can afford to move one of Cirelli and Sergachev because of Stamkos and McDonagh/Coburn. It would be hard to part with Cernak because their only other RD are Schenn and Foote.

Stamkos Point Kucherov
Killorn Cirelli Palat
Goodrow Gourde Coleman
Maroon Paquette Stephens

Hedman Cernak
McDonagh Foote
Coburn Schenn/Rutta

That's a better team than:

Stamkos Point Kucherov
? (No cap for top 6 LW) Cirelli Johnson
Goodrow Gourde Coleman
Maroon Paquette Stephens

Hedman Cernak
McDonagh Sergachev
Coburn Foote

IMO

And that probably doesn't even fit the cap anyway.

Maybe have Barre-Boulet as LW who has been amazing in AHL.

Yes, but there's a huge difference in playing top 6 C in the AHL and playing top 6 LW in the NHL.

I just got finished telling OldNYIFan that JAD, Clague, and two 2nds was one asset too much for Sergachev. If you add Johnson to the mix, it's now two assets too much. I'd do Sergachev and Johnson for a 2nd and one of those prospects.

That's over $11M in cap hit that the Kings would be taking on for at least 4 years. I don't know that the Kings would go for that in this market.
