The NHL just ranked Drew Doughty as the 15th best defenseman in the NHL. While I believe he is higher than that, I am glad he is still in the top 15.

Sorry to all the incompetent analytics people who don't watch hockey, I'm sure this is terrible news for you. However, I'm sure you people will keep acting like your knowledge is superior to the experts like you've always done.

Don't know why the Kings or Kings fans would be happy having the 15th ranked Dman making the 2nd most cap of any Dman. Doughty will be 31 by the time the next season starts and his contract runs for 7 more years. Doughty may have top 3 for a multiple years....but that was in the past. But to slip out of the top 10 doesn't bode well long term, value wise. 15th ranked Dman makes 7.6m, the 10th 8m.

Do you think having a bottom pair LD as a D partner for 4 straight years might effect Doughty? His only partners the last 4 years are Derek Forbort and Joakim Ryan. Yes you heard me right.
