Blockbuster NYI

Created by: Propeller09
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 4, 2020
Published: Nov. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This should clear enough to sign Barzal without a huge down grade in offense.
It would get Isles to end of Leddy, Boychuk, Clutterbuck and Komorov contracts and only 1 year left on ladd.

Bruins get bigger and stronger.

I Realize Nelson has a NTC. Bailey will not work. Not worth it.

I feel like the Bruins would probably need to add a pick or B+ Prospect. Although the Cap space is paramount to signing Barzal. Moving one Boychuk, leddy, Komorav or clutterbuck might cost them more...

Isles are not trading 2 of their 4 centers.

Cizikas maybe has to be traded, but Nelson will not.

I just can't see Isles trading Nelson. They have Beau so they don't really need DeBrusk.

NYI isn't trading 2 of their centers and Nelson is C, not LW. Cizikas is the best 4C in the league but still, $3.35M is a lot for a fourth line C (unless you bury Ritchie and Wagner).

No from NYI. Nelson has become the perfect 2C for this team. I'd be interested in DeBrusk but doesn't sound like we're great trade partners right now.

Yeah - Honestly thought Nelson was more of a wing, I didn't realize he had shifted to FT center over last couple years.

There was some thought early in his career that he'd play LW. He did play some LW with Tavares a long time ago, but he centered a kid line of Lee-Nelson-Strome and showed a lot more promise there. When Trotz got here, he turned him into an excellent 2C.

Is this a troll? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just curious if this is just a joke??

Moore, John
Cehlárik, Peter [RFA Rights]
Forsbacka Karlsson, Jakob [Reserve List]
2021 4th round pick (BOS)

Pro - I don't have an issue with John Moore, he's not a bad player, plays decent minutes, he's just not very physical, not a Bruins type player. Ottawa might not be as tough as the Bruins, but Moore is on the soft side even for Ottawa, but they could use him, for 1-2 years, until Sanderson was ready. He has three years left on his contract, but that can be absorbed since he doesn't make a huge amount of money, so can play 3rd pairing by that time.

Con - Wolanin can do the same job, and he's already on the team, and makes a lot less.

Cehlárik, Peter [RFA Rights] - Ottawa doesn't need him, Boston doesn't need to get rid of him, why is he included?

Forsbacka Karlsson, Jakob [Reserve List] - The guy went back to Sweden in 2019, why would you include him?

2021 4th round pick (BOS) - Not much of an incentive to take Moore when the Sens don't need him.

hes really a 3c who got bumped down when they traded for pageau. He would likely be a good 3c on any other team

Likely, on a checking line. I would want my 3C to be reliable defensively and put 30-40 pts at least.

JFK went back with every intention of coming back. He is a good young(ish) prospect. It wasn't like he didn't produce, he just wasn't going to play in Boston. Kind of like Soderberg, but without the tension with the team. I think it was a family thing.

I don't know what the deal is with Cehlarik. I kind of agree with him, he belongs in the NHL, I don't know why the Bruins never really gave him a legit shot. I feel like he took a couple dumb penalties and they wrote him off. I included him because OTT's strategy should be to sign or get as many of those types guy and hope a couple pop enough to deal for picks at deadline. Load up.

I actually think Moore could be that too. If he plays, he isn't bad, He isn't worth 2.75, but if you get a desperate enough team, you might be able to flip him.
