Decent list but only 1 of Theodore/Pietrangelo will be getting first PowerPlay minutes so expect one of them to fall a bit. Also pretty iffy on Krug, he's should put up points but is a defensive liability

Pretty easy to replace Krug's name with Rielly and make the same point.

No Rielly is decent defensively, not amazing but not a liability either.

I'm a big Leafs fan. That's to high for Rielly.

Rielly is fine to good defensively. But he isn't great. That spot is for someone more two way. He's more 15-20

Honestly, I see him making big strides defensively and having a breakout season with TJ Brodie next season. If he can get 72 points and 20 goals, and decent defensive numbers with Ron Hainsey, who knows the limit to him with a competent defensive partner.

He's pretty good, but not as good as he was a few years ago. I also don't really like his defensive game. Would probably have him in my 25-30 range. I think he takes a step back next year, especially since he's aging. Anyways, thanks for the comment!

Agree to strongly disagree. There’s a reason he was 16th and 7th in Norris votes the last two years despite playing significant minutes with JJ.

Overall you nailed it Thanos. Very little to add. Theodore is too high though. I'd put him in between Chabot and Macavoy here. Maybe switch out Spureon too.

Maybe, but he's declined in the past few years and will likely continue to do so. 2 years ago, absolutely he should be here. Now for me, he belongs somewhere between 15-25.

Well the experts clearly think differently...

Why not both???

Because I still see Piet as a top 5 defenseman in the league regardless of his teammates. I don't expect him to fall for a couple years

Lol well, I guess I can't argue with that. This is only a opinion still. But naturally, I can't really say my opinion is more valuable than nhl.com's.

Sure but you dont want to be stuck with 1 defenseman on the ice when the PP ends and its back to even strength. The 2nd unit will likely have Martinez and one oft he 2 in discussion here
