No need to trade Engvall. He can go down with minimal impact on the cap and he's good organizational depth insurance.

Call them whatever you want, but Engvall isn't an upgrade on most of them. Nieto, Marleau, Gregor are all very capable.

He is an upgrade, just not a big one. I understand you not wanting to do this trade. I wouldn't do it. That doesn't change that your bottom 6 needs help.

I think Kerfoot needs to play center, that’s where he’s historically generated his best results. Mikheyev-Tavares-Nylander was extremely good in their small sample size.

Nah, we've got enough players coming up that I'm confident can fill bottom six winger roles if the ones we've got don't work out and Engvall isn't worth giving up a pick for. I mean, ffs, we're rebuilding/restocking the pipeline and you don't do that by trading away picks, much less mid-round picks, for bottom six players.
