It wasn't up to the Leafs to sign Karlsson.....if Karlsson was a UFA, it would be Karlsson's choice.

especially when you have morgan rielly already, I mena obviously karlsson is better than rielly but rielly also lead the league in even strength points by a defenseman a few years ago

btw. i am in no form or fashion saying rielly is better than karlsson

karlsson is like, arguably one of the best offensive defenceman ever, but that's typically unnecessary. Leafs don't need a norris winner on the blue line, but a solid leader like Mo who can put up 50-60 points for $5M for a couple more years is good enough
