If we were to assume that Canes is pretty much in the same situation as Toronto is as a team, namely a young team close to contending, then is there really any point for them to agree to this? They add a rental goalie, two future assets and some mid level supplementary assets, while giving up some good pieces for their current run.

In a vacuum the value is OK, but I just don't see the point for Canes to do this. Tbf I don't see the point for the Leafs do this either, since they need a close to TOP10 goalie like Andersen due to their D being relatively weak, and they'd also lose their only actually defensive center in Kerfoot.

If TOR is looking to get better NOW, then a team like Canes is just the wrong trade partner since they're in exact same position.

We need NHL-cusp LWs about as much as you need NHL-cusp LDs.

You people with any lack of logical though are whos embarrassing. A year ago the Pesce rumors were Pesce for Kapenen... and since then Pesce continued to be a 3rd pairing dman that then had a serious season ending injury/ surgery thatll take a few more months to rehab and its unknow if will be fully recovered and return to being a competent NHL dman. So now people are thinking the damaged dman is worth a higher returm???? FFS... get with reality people and put some thought and effort into it before commenting
