Id rather stick with Francouz. Raanta has more NHL experience but Francouz has enough KHL + north american experience now that I dont think his numbers can be considered a fluke. They both have pretty even career stats but Francouz is cheaper even with the retention and is signed for an extra year which is a big deal for COL since they have some big signings coming up next offseason

I begin to wonder if it would be easier for Arizona to disband the franchise, pay a new franchise fee, and then select players through an expansion draft.

Gonna be a hard no from me on the Canucks trade. A good start would be replacing baertschi and sutter with beagle and roussel

This plus the Avs aren't even gaining anything in age. If they trade one one of Grub/Frankie, I would think it would have to be to acquire a younger goalie, and even then it's questionable if it's a need with Werner and Annunen in the pipeline.

I would do the Canes trade. Im not a fan of Kessel and don’t believe he is a Canes type player. He should bring enough scoring to the table to make it worth it.

The one hiccup would be cap. This deal puts us at 10k over with only 2 extra players. We would need enough space for another player. Eat another 800-850k of Kessel.

I figured adding Phil the thrill would maybe hurt his return a bit.

agreed. Frankie over Raanta easily especially when you consider how injury plagued Raanta is...avs dont need any more health questions in their crease

True, that is always their most questionable position. But a healthy Raanta would seriously boost their odds.
