Not that it really matters for this ACGM but Boychuk hasn’t filed his retirement papers thus he’s LTIRetirement which just means you don’t have as much available cap space come TDL.

No, they can't. They have 1.8M in space with a 20 man roster. Once you add a D and F healthy scratch they will barely have any space left

Van is not in the bad of cap trouble. They could just bury a number of guys to become cap compliant and then put Ferland on LTIR. They'll probably end up with almost 3 mil in cap space when the season starts.

Value wise I'm sure the Avs wouldn't mind the trade but you'd have to retain a LOT of salary and/or take someone else back.
