Wild pass. No reason to do that.

That doesnt come close to acquiring Timo. The conversation starts with Caufield and a 1st.

Tatar : 30 years old, been passed around

Meier : 24 years old, core member of the sharks, our highest pick since Couture, has not reached his potential yet.

Your point about one season is absolutely moot. Ppl here like to forget that sharks had major injuries to Couture, Hertl and Karlsson last season. That would surely affect their linemates.

Hey can I trade you Marcus Foligno for Kotkaniemi? Foligno had 25 points in 59 games and Kotkaniemi only had 8 in 36.

Sharks very easily reject. I agree, getting Meier starts with Caufield but the whole idea is absolutely worthless because Timo will not be on the block ever in SJ, he's our 2nd best forward after Hertl and only 24 and already an absolute monster in the playoffs, something Tatar has never been.

Like my fellow fans here have said, Caufield or Suzuki would need to be coming back in a Timo trade, or we dont get started talking

Will probably have to compensate some team to take Byron, laughable offer for Meier, maybe the Sens do that deal.

I would take the Ottawa deal, just because I'm not confident in Reilly and Wolanin on the 2nd pair. This team needs to start winning games, and gaining that culture.

I might take the Minnesota deal, giving up size for speed. Foligno had a career season, Byron a down season, but Byron has more on ice value. Byron is two years older, but could be in the league longer than Foligno. Big slow 4th line wingers don't age well, but he's got a couple/few seasons left.

My opinion on the SJS deal might not be well received, by either fan base. Timo is better than Tatar, hands down, and 6 years younger. The last two seasons, at age 22/23, Meier has done as well as Tatar at age 28/29, and Tatar had his best two seasons of his career these last two seasons. Montreal needs to add to get Meier, and they did, but was it enough? We can't cite Tatar's draft position because he's a nine season vet, but we can cite Meier's draft position because he may not have reached his peak yet. 9th overall in 2015, taken ahead of Rantanen, taken ahead of Barzal, taken ahead of Chabot, just to name a few. The 2015 draft was a strong draft, and Meier was drafted 9th, so he could improve even more. So basically, Meier is much better than Tatar, and six years younger, so a B prospect and a 2nd isn't enough to add to Tatar, IMO.

Timo will be a perennial 60-70 point player when he hits his prime But that's not all hes counted on for. He's a power forward who forechecks, hits hard, fights occasionally and is an underrated playmaker and can also defend quite well. He's the total package for us so if any team makes a pitch for him it's going to start with a blue chip prospect and an established middle six player under 30 along with a 2-3rd rounder. He is basically the hybrid of Hertl and Kane.
