I don't think they have a future 1C in their organization. They still have a few years of Seguin, but their next true 1C probably hasn't been drafted yet.

Just for minutes played and his contract, figure it's Sequin for a long time. But good teams and good coaches don't worry about silly numbering systems. If the Stars (in time) two best forwards are centres then you probably don't have a # 1 centre, you have two very good centres.
Which is the Leafs top line? At times it's the one centred by Matthews and the time it's one centred by Tavares.
Who is the Leafs # 1 Dman. Could be Muzzin, not Reilly. Therefore by that logic, last season when healthy, Muzzin and Holl were the Leafs the "top pairing", if you believe in a rating systems.
