overpayment

Honestly, y'all gotta stop with PLD to MTL. I'm a habs fan and i know we won't get him. All y'all doing is either overpaying or not giving enough in return. In any trade that include PLD (realistic one, fair), we will feel like we give too much. Montreal has a solid bank of prospect and the team is looking good right now. I think the smart play here is wait for the development of the young players instead of moving them. While i would love for PLD to become a habs, i just don't think it is realistic. Even MB said that he was able to upgrade his team without giving up futures. So i don't think he wants to move guys like Caufield, Romanov, KK, Suzuki, Norlinder, and i agree.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to see PLD in a Habs jersey, I think you're right, it's not gonna happen. Main reason being that MTL will have to overpay for JK to trade him in the East, and I don't see why MB would go down that road.

I agree to an extent. It depends on the performances of the Canadiens' centers this season and PLD's performance this year. Suzuki is very close in age to PLD, and GMMB has a history of making a trade for a fracophone offensive star. I am by no means saying it's going to happen, and I am by no means saying that I agree with it. So before there is any hate thrown my way, know that I do not agree that the Canadiens need to trade for PLD and/or will trade for PLD. All I am saying is that, after this season, it may be possible. But what do I know? What do any of us know, for that matter?

Hahaha, do not worry. I am able to have a conversation with having to hate on you! I do agree that it depends on the performances of the centers. But i think we should still be patient with guys like KK or Suzuki, yes they are solid young players. But that's the thing, they are still young, so lot of room for progression. While i think it might be possible for Dubois to be traded, i just mainly think some habs fans are overreacting to this news that Dubois wants out only cause he's french canadian. Yes, i agree, they don't need to trade for him. It would be nice, for sure. Just need to be realistic with this. When you want a solid player you need to pay, but you don't need to overpay or not pay enough, which is what i see a lot in these PLD trades to MTL. Personnally i couldn't tell you what is a decent and fair trade for Dubois between MTL and CBJ, which is why i am only a fan. You're right tho, we don't know ****

The only name that comes to mind when you're talking about MB having a history of making a trade for a francophone offensive star is Drouin. But he has done that one time. One trade doesn't make it an habit in my opinion. (I might be wrong tho and forgot another name)

I totally agree, and i must say i got confused when you said ''overpay for JK to trade him to the east". ( I thought of Kotkaniemi and was like, wait what?)
But yeah, i think MTL will have to overpay if they want PLD, and i don't want that to happen.

VAN decline, they don't need a LHD, also there defense is already set for the season.
