The combo moves of Roslovic in Jost out and Virtanen out and Donskoi out isnt too bad, Avs do lose some defensively ability there bc but Roslovic has more offensive upside than Jost and Virtanen can bring more of a heavy hockey game than Donskoi

Its interesting. However IMO if the Avs did something like this, you play Kaut by moving Bellemare. You need his 2way game to make sure you didnt create too much of a defensively liability bottom 6

I agree, the defensively ability does go down, but the bottom 6 gets younger and faster. And Calvert is still there so he can provide some defense

And plus if he wants a second line role, than he’s out of luck because. One: Not many teams have space for him as a second line center. Two: If he does find a team that has a second line center spot open it’s probably not a very good team.

Jakes 24 and has played close to 300 NHL games...probably a little more to give but at this point he is pretty much what he is, a 20g 40-45pt player. Dont think he just blossoms into a perennial 60 point guy.

as a true canucks fan.i have watched jake since jr hockey.He will turn some heads this year. we like his heavy game, and he was never projected to be a perrnnial 60 point guy. in my opinion.

and jost is looking like a dud so far. don't see why vancouver would make that trade.

The Avs bottom 6 is actually rated pretty highly overall. While you could hope for a better 3C than JT (he's better at wing), they are by no means poor. What hurt the Avs last year (aside from all the injuries) was bad strategy on special teams and Dallas figured out how to stymie their first pass out of the zone in that series pretty well. So, with some tweaks by the coaches and some better luck with injuries, they should be better this year.
