Short and long-term cap savings and a 1st round pick. Caps retain a small amount on Nyquist to make it a net-cap negative for Vegas.

No way Caps even pick up phone for this deal, Wilson is the next captain after Ovie retires and never going to trade him, especially within division when they are reformed again in 21-22... Similar to Jackets and Dubois, not going to deal a young top line center to division rival, so non starter on both ends..

Even if Dubois and Tuch give Washington a major youth infusion and allow Washington to keep winning after Ovi and Backstrom retire?

Wilson is not the captain.....by the time OV retires Wilson will be 30+ guys who play his game don't last long. They take a beating. Remember his body takes a hit every time he hits someone else too.

Not sure why CBJ does this at all. You'd have to start with McMichael.

McMichael doesn't help Columbus win now. Wilson and Kuznetsov do. It gives Columbus a net roster upgrade over Dubois in the present-term. I think that win-now pieces are preferable for Jarmo than prospects that could be good in the future, especially since both can be dealt in the future for picks and prospects anyways.

what CBJ team are you talking about. They love to play 19 year old rookies. Like they did with Dubois, Foudy, Tex...................
The conversation would start at McMichael.

That Columbus trade is horrible for the Caps.
