Three adds that wouldnt surprise me
none of those work at all, maybe the Domi one with a tweak... don't see Sprong being sent to division rival.... definitely see him moving to a Western Conf team if they bring someone in to upgrade the 2 way game...... if they trade with Ottawa, could see Paul or a return of Sanford to give Caps even more versatility and size with sneaky speed to make them even tougher to play against..... don't want anything close to deal with Halak..... mistake first time around and bad juju from his highway robbery of that series in 2010

trade deadline
on same wave length about Sprong to Seattle, was thinking more of a Calle Jarnkrok being the return especially with Hagelin out long term to be a swiss army knife forward like he was with Laviolette in Nashville.....never hurts to have another forward that can play all 3 spots

Could we be able to get all of these pieces
Definitely would think if one of these guys are the target , it is Giroux.... Familiarity with Lavy from time in Philly together and would be a great piece for faceoffs, could be in bumper spot and Ovie spot on Power play in different alignments and units.... A thought would be maybe sending Eller in the package back for Giroux, maybe even Brassard thrown in a bigger deal...(remember they can be over 23 players as of the Deadline Day, just have to be cap compliant through season's end and then Mantha could be added to mix in playoffs if shoulder is ready.... could get very creative and really fortify team without dipping too deep into the prime prospects on this team...

yep, mid round pick and one roster player (Siegs) would be the optimal idea for that acquisition, would like to have Glendening and Dowd out there late in games, where one can be aggressive on dot and if kicked out, the other is as good, if not a better option to win draw

Connolly Panik would be a nice swap and could be high reward, but I think the caps would look for a player that has a little more impact potential. I’m thinking Iafallo or Rakell are legitimate options.</div></div>
yeah, I know probably a lot for Glendening and mainly my most asset given up type of deal, would hope a pick would be enough, but also knowing a roster player would have to go off to fit the salary ..... the Del Zotto move would be if Siegenthaler was moved, just to have an extra LHD along side TVR as the extra RHD to cover bases in playoffs

agreed, that's the most I'd do depending on other offers Detroit might get for him..... Siegenthaler and a 6th would be my best deal for roster and cap space to fit the remaining on his deal and bring in Del Zotto as a depth LHD to replace Siegs

hoping a 4th will do it, I think Detroit will have multiple suitors for him, that's my maximum I'd give up for him, rather part with Siegs and a lower pick unless the 1 million cap savings burying Panik and puting Carr back on taxi will give caps money to get him.... Siegenthaler is an asset with the LHD playing well in Hershey and overseas

Capital fans how has Zdeno Chara played for you guys
Tremendous pick up both on and off the ice... He has made it possible for Jensen to be comfortable with his instincts and trust his skating ability to make plays he was doubting since coming over from Detroit.... Between signing Chara and bringing in a real Defense assistant in Kevin McCarthy has really gotten the D playing well in all 3 zones.... still some bumps in the road at times, but Chara has been a blessing and given Caps more time to get their next wave of LHD's (Fehervary, Alexeyev, and Nardella) more time to get good minutes in other places this season and keep developing right...

Ekblad injury allows Florida to trade for a rental
Definitely Lenny, always makes Ovie work like many of the better big younger D in the league now.... Truthfully, he and McCabe need to be the D Buffalo builds around, I believe if divisions were not altered this year, Sabres are not in the situation they are in, they got the unlucky hand of going to the Division of Death sort to speak
Could also see David Savard maybe being the play with Zito's knowledge of the Jackets, already bringing guys like Wennberg and Duclair down that have been in that organization while he was there....

Dumba would 2 more years at 6M, Rasmus looks to have 1 more at 5M, definitely insurance in case Ekblad isn't able to start next year healthy , maybe easier to move being a UFA next year when Ekblad is healthy , or could be a piece used in deals with Seattle to make sure certain players aren't touched they don't want leaving S. Fla..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fedorov91</b></div><div>Djoos has been quietly really good for us, really like what he has been bringing</div></div>
Djoos always steps up when he gets the ice time, He was so good in Hershey and the times he was called on with Caps, he was solid... The injury bug bit him along with horrendous assistant D coach in DC (Cashman) put him in bad spots and made him doubt himself.........him being inserted in lineup in Game 3 of EC QF in 2018 against Columbus was just as huge a move as putting Holtby in for Grubauer..... When Ducks sent him to Wings, had a feeling that would be a natural fit getting PP time as well

Any deal Caps do is going to be tough to say the least, I know Preds are going to be in a unique situation with their recent hot play knowing that getting in playoffs brings in more revenue, even at reduced capacities which is big in this unique year..... mainly looking for versatile forward that can play both center and wing.... Haula and Richardson both on UFA expiring deals intrigue me for depth purposes

yeah, I think Glendening will be a sneaky deadline grab for someone, trying to push things around and get salary cap rammifications makes any deal Caps might want to pull tough at best good to get the feedback from Wings' fans, some of my favorite non Caps fans I've dealt with both on here, and in person....

definitely not seeing Caps giving up pair of picks for Rittich, Sammy and Vitek are the plan in net, with Anderson and maybe even Lundqvist in playoffs as a safety blanket... as long as the 18 in front of them are in sync, Ilya and Vitek will definitely be a good pair in between the pipes

Caps Retool Their Lineup With Youth Infusion
No way Caps even pick up phone for this deal, Wilson is the next captain after Ovie retires and never going to trade him, especially within division when they are reformed again in 21-22... Similar to Jackets and Dubois, not going to deal a young top line center to division rival, so non starter on both ends..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>I see your point. A depth chart at center of Duchene-Johansen-Bonino-Turris is not all that different from Kuznetsov-Duchene-Johansen-Turris, but it costs $3M more. Square peg, meet round hole.
WPG and Ari fans on here are low key asking about Kuznetsov. NSH needs wings. Ovechkin led the league in goals, but is rumored to want a 10.5Mx3 extension. Oshie is still scoring on a 30 g 50p pace, but is old. It would make more sense for NSH and WSH to swap a C for a W. At that point, I'm still not positive whether we talk about just throwing in Fabbro, but maybe a different defenseman?</div></div>
Thanks for the intel about ARI and WPG asking about Kuzy, that top 4 D would be something to get back for him..... have to take a look at their rosters to see where one could find some common ground making sense.... Oshie value goes far beyond the rink, he's that teams' heartbeat and one of the few that gave every ounce for that team in bubble... definitely getting up in tooth but still think he has couple more good years in him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>Even if Kuznetsov magically becomes the top six center who's production doesn't tank in NSH, the Preds don't have the cap space to accommodate his contract. They need to move a center this off-season, not bring in another one with term and a high salary. Fabbro is an important part of their future, so including him is a non-starter. The prospect pool is shallow, so they'd be hesitant to give up picks unless they're getting something back that they really want. Boyd doesn't have any value to NSH.</div></div>
Appreciate the feedback gmgb, Fabbro is a great piece indeed , good for the insight from a Preds fan to see what is the buzz down there.... That's the good about posting something and getting good feedback like that

Definitely not seeing them taking on a huge contract like Karlsson's especially with Ovie's contract up, could make that one more expensive AAV wise with the Karlsson contract on books..... better off with Oshie and Hagelin and finding RHD elsewhere..... I do like the Jonathan Dahlen angle, find a way to get him and give him shot maybe to develop into a future piece here in DC

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>WSH ends up having to protect 8 players, rather than 7 forwards and 3 D, after this deal. So that's the big compensation: NSH gets two extra protection spots. won't be able to do Oshie move til after we see how many goals he scores this year :).... I like the point though definitely could be some moves in that area also... still not 100% sold on Siegenthaler, good on PK but still showed struggles 5 on 5, especially with Alexeyev in the wings as well...
