Maybe there is more here such as Hall and Montour with some salary retained and more added on Florida's end.

I was thinking you add Montour for that price. Maybe change the prospect of add a mid pick for retention beyond Halls 4 mil (that’s gotta be assumed at this point).

It seems most on here were ok with Hall for Bellows, 2021 2nd and 3rd so maybe Heponiemi and 2021 2nd and 3rd for Hall (50% retained).
Mattering the extent of Ekblad's injury what is the give back for Montour?
If his injury is season ending that's another 7.5 mil Fla has to play with I think.

I was actually thinking Panthers might kick tires on Ristolanien being a right hand shot to replace Ekblad, any chance that might be the play?? Especially with salary not being an issue with Ekblad heading to LTIR

I guess I’d be surprised to see Hall get the 3rd added in. Heponiemi is probably good enough a prospect to get both with the 2nd and 3rd IMO.

Was just thinking the same but with Dumba. Term could be an issue though.

Dumba would 2 more years at 6M, Rasmus looks to have 1 more at 5M, definitely insurance in case Ekblad isn't able to start next year healthy , maybe easier to move being a UFA next year when Ekblad is healthy , or could be a piece used in deals with Seattle to make sure certain players aren't touched they don't want leaving S. Fla..

Good question, he was having a good season considering the dumpster fire the Sabres are but he was hit hard with covid plus his partner McCabe was injured and lost for the season. He had some tough games once back but seems ok now. Hard to say where the Sabres stand on him...if Krueger was still the coach I'd say no chance he gets traded but now I wouldn't say that. I think there are very few that Adam's won't listen to offers on.

Definitely Lenny, always makes Ovie work like many of the better big younger D in the league now.... Truthfully, he and McCabe need to be the D Buffalo builds around, I believe if divisions were not altered this year, Sabres are not in the situation they are in, they got the unlucky hand of going to the Division of Death sort to speak

Could also see David Savard maybe being the play with Zito's knowledge of the Jackets, already bringing guys like Wennberg and Duclair down that have been in that organization while he was there....

I think Montour is the better option, cheaper in all aspects, also an UFA that if Seattle were to sign would count as the expansion player drafted from Florida if I'm not mistaken

Can't see that happening unless you're talking a blockbuster trade.

Possibly. But they could maximize the Huberdeau/Barkov bridge deals by pushing the chips in now. Could even do it by keeping Lundell off the table, question is if they consider moving Knight.
