Quoting: Campabee
Like I said to BCarlo25, I didn't realize that Lauzon was that highly touted.
Kulak is a top 4 D man as well, He was the Habs best D man in the playoffs this year and paired well with Petry. It blows my mind that MB and CJ think that Edmundson is better than Kulak. Kulak is really underrated for what he brings to the team.
Hutton is not on the same level as Kulak, just like Kulak is not on the same level as Carlo or McAvoy. Kulak is more like Grzelcyk a 15-25 point D man. Except that Kulak also has size where as Grzelcyk is the better skater.
I never said that the Bruins were bad at drafting, what I said was I saw that Lauzon had been drafted 2015 and has only played a total of 35 NHL games since being drafted.
I wasn't trying to say you said the Bruins were bad at drafting. It's more the general consensus by a large number of Bruins fans and fans throughout the league that the Bruins have struggled due to number of games their picks have played. When compared to other good teams it's right in line.
I really don't think that Kulak is a top 4 guy. Not even close, or they would trade him. Lots of teams looking for top4 at close to league min. He is 27 and has managed one full season. That being said, he is probably better than Edmundson - who is not very good. FYI Ben Hutton's numbers are very similar.
On a side note - Gryzelcyk is not a 15-20pt dman in his current role. He did that as the third pairing /2nd Pairing PP guy. His numbers will double playing 1st PP and getting more offensive opportunities.
Gryzelcyk was a 55/45 Ozone/Dzone start
Krug was 69/31 Ozone/Dzone start
I expect Gryzelcyk's zone starts to be a closer to what Krug had been doing. Maybe not as one sided, because he is better defensively, but it will be heavily weighted towards Ozone. Being the PP QB, his numbers will take a huge jump.
